Aurélie Brown

Hello, I’m Aurélie; French artist based in sunny Los Angeles, California, where I live with my husband, two adult children, and cat, Zorro.

I am a self-taught fine artist and I paint most days in my sketchbook with my favorite medium, acryla gouache. In 2023, I completed the 100 Day Project where I created one painting everyday for 100 days. This allowed me to explore a range of subjects, from people to flowers, animals, and still life as well my style.

As for it, I am known for my quirkiness, loose brush strokes, bold colors and color combinations. I find a lot of joy in creating, and thrive to bring joy and happiness to you. In 2023, I had the chance to collaborate with the Los Angeles Times Plants, and created four patterns for their Wallpaper Wednesday Series. In 2024, I launched my business and the rest is history. You can find me online as well at some great markets in Los Angeles. As my business evolves, make sure to check what product I developed lately or which prints or originals is currently available.

When not creating or working on my business, I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, or just visit a beautiful garden in the Los Angeles area. I also embrace the simple life and creativity as much as I can. Another one of my favorite things to do is eat, drink wine and enjoy time around a delicious meal with friends and family.

What can I say, it must be that French in me ;-) Thank you for stopping by!

Los Angeles Times Plants Collaboration

During April 2023, I had the chance to partner with the Los Angeles Times Plants for their Wallpaper Wednesday Series. Over the course of four weeks, subscribers had the privilege of capturing snapshots of my illustrations to adorn their phone wallpapers. To pay tribute to California and the abundant rainfall we experienced in the winter of 2023, I crafted four patterns inspired by the breathtaking Superbloom. This natural phenomenon transforms the hills and yards across the state into captivating works of art, showcasing the vibrant hues of poppies and other native flowers.
